PART OF BUILDING REGULATIONS
Part L of building regulations has changed and this now means that Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) are now mandated. Heating systems in new dwellings, or when a heat generator such as a gas boiler is replaced should be combined with a thermostatic room control (i.e. a TRV) in each room. TRVs are common practice but this change mandates them with all new heating system installations.
Customers will need to select X number of TRV’s for their homes to replace existing old valves during the installation.
These add £36 per valve up to 6/ £30 per valve more than 6 to the price they are quoted.

Highly recommended. Our elderly relative with dementia, was without heating or hot water for several days. We live away so no local trades knowledge. Relative has longstanding service contract with another company who advised that a new boiler may be required and the system needed powerflushing first. They could not powerflush, other providers were quoting a further week. We found Eric on Checkatrade, spoke at 8am and he re-arranged his work and attended same day. He kept us informed, provided clear logical explanations; powerflush not needed. Pump replaced, boiler adjusted. Very fair charges.
Excellent service provided by Eric. He replaced the heat exchanger on my Baxi boiler, which Baxi engineer was not able to due to its location. Eric further changed a flow switch and manifold. A Baxi engineer on a later visit commented that he (Eric) had done a good job. The boiler is now running well. A good job done efficiently and importanly safely. Eric will be my first port of call when needing something similar.
